Mr Gay World 2024 Comes to Great Britain!

For the first time in its 15-year history, the Mr Gay World contest will grace the shores of Great Britain in 2024. Scheduled over several days from 21st August, the competition will culminate in the crowning of the winner during the Grand Finale ceremony on 26th August.

Prepare for a Remarkable British Experience

The Mr Gay World 2024 delegates are in for an unforgettable experience. They will be hosted at the Alnwick Castle dormitory in Northumberland, in collaboration with St Cloud’s University. The iconic Alnwick Castle, known for its appearances in popular films and television series like Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, sets the stage for this prestigious event.

The Duchess of Northumberland, Jane Percy, a staunch supporter of equality and LGBTQ+ rights, will lead the judging panel. “I’m absolutely thrilled that Mr Gay World is coming to Alnwick in 2024,” says The Duchess. “We are honoured to host such a prestigious event in the beautiful surroundings of The Alnwick Garden and look forward to welcoming competitors and visitors from around the globe to our magnificent part of the UK.”

Exciting Excursions and Events Await

Delegates will partake in several excursions blending advocacy and fun in Durham, Tyneside, and Northumberland, including a vibrant Pride Parade and a Civic Reception with the Mayor and Mayoress of South Shields.

The Grand Finale on 26th August will be hosted by Peter Darrant and Drag Queen Ophelia Balls. It will also feature a star-studded lineup of international artists and will be broadcast live.

A New Chapter For Mr Gay World

The 2024 competition reveal is just one of many significant developments from Mr Gay World aimed at revitalising its global brand. This includes a brand refresh, starting with the eagerly awaited update to the logo, designed by Visual Candy, the Mr Gay World graphic design partner since 2022.

The next five years are also set to see Mr Gay World spread its message of inclusivity and empowerment even further worldwide, as it transforms from a singular entity into an influential network of international subsidiaries.

About Mr Gay World

The first Mr Gay World event took place in 2009 in Canada, establishing an annual global competition to inspire and empower gay men to come together in a public event to highlight diversity, leadership and the challenges facing LGBTQ+ people across the world. Since then, events have taken place in Europe, Asia and Africa with dozens of delegates representing a vast array of nations. The Mr Gay World Foundation was also established as the charity component of the contest.
