Congratulations! Caster Semenya and her wife celebrate anniversary

South Africa’s most famous athlete, Caster Semenya, and her wife, Violet Raseboya, are celebrating their wedding anniversary this week.
On Monday, Raseboya marked the occasion with a heartwarming post on Instagram that featured a montage of images of the couple.
She included the famous Biblical quote from Corinthians that states that, “Love is beautiful, Love is patient, Love is kind…” and added that, “it doesn’t have gender…”
Raseboya continued: “We came a long way Wewe happy Anniversary to us. 11 years of relationship and 3 years of Marriage and i feel like it was yesterday. I thank the Almighty every day to have someone like you in my life.”
Semenya, who also celebrated her birthday on Monday, responded: “i appreciate you and i love you my Bubu…” The Olympian also posted a photo of her and Raseboya holding a birthday cake in the shape of a running shoe on her own Instagram account, with the hashtag, #Casvioday-07-01.
The couple’s relationship goes as far back as at least 2008 when fellow athletes noticed that the two runners had grown close.
In March 2013, Drum magazine reported that the lovebirds has gotten engaged, while it was claimed in May 2014 that Caster’s elders visited Raseboya’s family in Polokwane to negotiate and pay lobola.
In December 2015, the two women held a ceremony in Ga-Dikgale, Limpopo that was described as a traditional South African wedding. That was followed by a lavish white wedding in January 2017 that made international headlines.
