Learn Broadcast Essentials with GaySA Radio in Pretoria
GaySA Radio is presenting a new course in Pretoria for aspiring radio presenters to teach them the essentials of broadcasting.
Since its opening a few short months ago, GaySA Radio has been overwhelmed by the response frOm aspiring presenters who want to become part of the GaySA Radio family.
Most of these applicants however have no previous experience or training, only the desire and passion to make a contribution.
With so many enthusiastic people standing in line to make a contribution, it has become necessary to provide training that would introduce them to the essential knowledge needed to enter the broadcasting field.
Luckily one of the volunteers at GaySA Radio is Chris Jordan, radio lecturer, author and broadcaster, who has stepped up to the challenge to transfer skills to a new generation of radio personalities.
From 16 July 2016, for a period of six weeks, he will be presenting a weekly four hour class covering various aspects of broadcasting. This will include Broadcasting Basics and Methodologies and working on your on-air personality.
Other topics that will be covered include news and sports broadcasting, show development and production, radio intelligence and practical advice on how to creating a radio demo.
At the end of the course, students will have a good working knowledge of all aspects of radio, which will stand them in good stead when applying for a position at GaySA Radio or any other community radio station.
Apart from having a demo, which they can use when applying, they will also receive a certificate of completion.
There is very limited space in this training program in Pretoria and potential applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to secure their space.
The course fee is R4,500 for the total course and includes course materials and refreshments. A deposit of R1,000 secures your place with the balance payable before the course commences.
The course fee will cover the course book, other materials to be used during the six-week period, as well as refreshments.
