Meet the Mr Mardi Gras SA 2016 finalists & vote for your fave

Now you can influence who will represent South Africa at Mr Gay World next year.

Public voting for the contestants in the Mr Mardi Gras South Africa (MRMGSA) pageant is open.

The event will take place in Knysna on Friday 29 April as part of the Pink Loerie Arts & Culture Festival.

Your votes will count for 10 percent of the 12 contestants’ final scores, which will ultimately decide who takes home the title.

The winner will not only score R20,000 in cash, plus prizes with a combined value of R18,000, but will also win the right to represent the country at Mr Gay World 2017.

South Africa’s previous Mr Gay World contestants were chosen through the Mr Gay South Africa pageant. However, that event recently lost the Mr Gay World license, which has now been transferred to MRMGSA.

Below are the 12 contestants. While it’s a great pity that so few men of colour entered the contest, we congratulate the guys for stepping forward and wish them the best of luck.
