Pink Loerie celebrates 16 years in 2016

This year’s Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Arts Festival takes place in Knysna from Wednesday 27 April to Sunday 1 May.

The 2016 theme is “Young at Heart and Never Been Kissed” and celebrates the event’s 16th anniversary.

The festival will include 16 things to do in Knysna, 16 places of special interest in the region, 16 restaurants to visit and much more.

The VIP Dinner and Fundraising Auction will be held on Friday, 29 April and the Sweet Sixteen party hosted by Betty Bangles on Saturday, 30 April.

Knysna and its visitors will again be able to enjoy a host of drag acts as part of Wigstock Chapter 2, which is planned to coincide with Pink Loerie 2016.

The organisers are also pleased to welcome newcomers to the Pink Loerie, the bears, who will present the Bear Colony Festival 2016.

Other highlights of the festival include SA’s first mass same-sex wedding (29 April), Mr Mardi Gras 2016 (29 April), the annual street parade (30 April) and a host of parties.
