Ten more victims can be added to the growing list of those brutally executed by Isis because they were found “guilty” of being gay.

According to AFP, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that nine men and a “boy” were shot dead in public by militants in Syria on Monday.

Seven of the men were executed in the central town of Rastan, while two others, including the boy, were killed in the Northern town of Hreitan.

The age of the youth is not known. Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said that unlike on other occasions Isis militants destroyed any cameras that filmed the murders.

Most previous victims of Isis gay executions have been beheaded, thrown off the top of buildings or stoned.

In August, UN Security Council member states were briefed on the horrific violence faced by LGBT people in Isis-held areas of Iraq and Syria.

Some criticised the meeting as being infective and offering no solutions and warned that it could actually lead to more executions which are often used as a means of propaganda by Isis.

Since June 2014, Isis has proudly distributed images and videos of dozens of brutal public killings of gay people. It’s been claimed that in some cases undercover Isis members set up ‘dates’ with gay men in order to lure, capture and execute them.

In addition to the gay executions, there have also been reports, images and videos of the stoning of women convicted of adultery, and numerous accounts of people executed by Isis militias because of their religious or political affiliation.
