947 DJ Sizwe Dhlomo says he’s (sadly) not gay
Sexy South African radio personality Sizwe Dhlomo has responded to claims that he beat his “gay lover”.
According to a recent Daily Sun report, a man claiming to be Sizwe’s boyfriend said that the presenter “assaults me regularly”.
The man apparently told the newspaper that he hadn’t filed charges against Sizwe because, “I love him”.
Sizwe later took to twitter to respond to the article, commenting that he at first thought the newspaper was pranking him with the story.
“The only thing bothering me is the assault allegation. That’s reputational damage!” he tweeted.
As for the claim that he’s been in a relationship with a man, Sizwe commented: “I’m too grown to worry about people saying I’m gay.”
He added that he had “never even heard” of his alleged boyfriend.
We’re glad Sizwe didn’t respond with outrage at being called gay (it shouldn’t be a big deal after all), though we’d be rather chuffed if he did indeed bat for our team.
Durban-born Sizwe hosts 947’s Bloc Party on Friday and Saturday nights. In 2005, he became the first MTV Base VJ after winning the channel’s talent contest.
