American singer and songwriter Barry Manilow, 71, has reportedly secretly married his longtime manager Garry Kief, 66.

According to People and other media outlets, the wedding ceremony was held last year and took the couple’s friends and family by surprise.

A friend revealed to the magazine that the 20 to 30 guests had been invited to a lunch at the couple’s mansion in Palm Springs, only to discover that they were to instead witness the lovebirds tying the knot.

It’s unclear if the marriage has been officially registered but the two men, who are believed to have been together for 30 years, are said to be wearing wedding bands.

A source claimed that they “are committed to one another and have been for a very long time,” adding that, “They have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry.”

Manilow has never opened up about his sexuality and has been extremely private about his personal life. Many, however, have speculated over the years that he might be gay.

The star married a woman, Susan Deixler, in 1964, but they divorced after less than a year.

Neither he nor Kief have confirmed the reports of the nuptials. The singer’s representative told the Mirror: “We don’t comment on my client’s personal lives – that is all I am going to say about this.”

Manilow has sold more than 80 million records around the world and is best known for his easy-listening hits including Mandy, Can’t Smile Without You, and Copacabana (At the Copa).
