Bruce Jenner’s son slams flurry of trans “jokes” about his dad

Actor and comedian Jamie Foxx, who hosted Sunday night’s iHeartRadio Music Awards, left many viewers unimpressed after he made another transphobic Bruce Jenner joke.

“We got some groundbreaking performances, here too, tonight,” said Foxx. “We got Bruce Jenner, who will be doing some musical performances. He’s doing a his-and-her duet all by himself.”

He added: “Look, I’m just busting your balls… while I still can.”

The Academy Award winning Foxx was immediately criticised on social media for making the joke at the expense of Jenner and people dealing with gender identity issues.

It’s been widely reported that the 65-year-old former Olympic athlete and reality TV star is in the midst of transitioning to a woman.

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton tweeted: “Boo! Shame on you #iHeartAwards for allowing @iamjamiefoxx to be transphobic on national television! Those #BruceJenner jokes were wrong!!!”

One of Jenner’s sons, Burt, told TMZ that Foxx was desperately copying fellow comedian Kevin Hart, who also joked about his father at the Justin Bieber Roast two weeks earlier.

“I think he is just copying Kevin Hart because Kevin Hart is taking all his movie opportunities,” said Burt. “Jamie Foxx is on the way down. He’s gotta keep his mojo going so he’s gotta copy what’s working.”

The older Jenner was skewered by a number of comedians at the Justin Bieber Roast, which was attended by Kourtney Kardashian and Jenner’s daughter, Kendall Jenner.

“There were rumours that Justin [was] dealing with Kendall Jenner, and that shocked me,” said Hart at the event. “I was like, ‘You gonna deal with a Jenner, I thought it would be Bruce! That’s what I thought!’”

Will Ferrell in his Anchorman Ron Burgundy persona said to the crowd: “You Bruce Jenner Hollywood hermaphrodites, that’s all you are!”

Jeff Ross threw in his two cents by commenting: “Kendall Jenner, if you and Justin Bieber get married, who is going to give you away? Only man in the family is Khloe Kardashian.”

A furious Burt added: “You can make jokes about my dad all you want, but you can’t make jokes in front of my sister and make my sister feel awkward… I would’ve charged the stage. If security would have gotten to me beforehand, I would have thrown something at ya.”
