Beaten, raped, jumped on and set on fire: David Olyne

The man accused of the horrific torture and burning to death of a young gay Ceres man last month will remain in jail.

GroundUp reported that murder suspect Christo Oncker, 28, was denied bail at last week’s court hearing.

He is accused of brutally beating a bloody David Olyne, 23, with a brick, jumping on his face and then setting him on fire as a group of teens watched.

He allegedly earlier called them to watch him “kill a moffie.”

It was revealed in court that the witnesses claim that he burned the helpless victim, who was tied up with wire, over and over again.

Police said that forensic tests had revealed that Olyne had been raped. They also told the court that Oncker had a previous drug-related conviction.

Jaco Krouwkam, Oncker’s lawyer, said that he believed that other people had been involved in the murder and called for further investigation and questioning of the young witnesses.

Oncker will appear in court again on June 13.
