DISGUSTING MUGABE ATTACKS GAYS AGAIN ON ELECTION TRAIL
Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe is again showing no hesitation in stooping to the lowest levels by using homophobia and sexism in a bid to win the country’s upcoming elections.
The disgusting despot seems to know no bounds in his determination to retain power, revealing in recent speeches what really lurks below his gentlemanly veneer.
On Friday, he began his latest homophobic tirade by slamming American President Barack Obama over his pro gay stance, reported the Zimbabwe media.
“I heard Obama said ‘I wish Africa would legalise marriages between men and women’ and I said I thought that since your father was black you would understand and know the African tradition, now you talk about the western way of life?” Mugabe told thousands of supporters in Harare.
Mugabe went on to ask, as if he were making a joke: “So how would they [gay couples] have children? I should like to shut them-up in some room and see if they get pregnant. If they don’t then its jail because they have claimed they can have children. So, to that kind of rot, we say no, no, no, no!”
He added, laughing, that “Women are also engaged in this vile activity. We have some claiming to be men but what is it that makes you a man? Show us your manhood. You want to make other women your wives and you the husband? Well, that is madness; we refuse to accept that.”
In an earlier election speech, he described South African President Jacob Zuma’s international relations adviser Lindiwe Sisulu as a “little streetwalker” and a “stupid idiotic woman”.
Last month, Mugabe threatened that if he won the elections he would review and tighten current sentences imposed on gay people so that they will “rot in jail”.
Chesterfield Samba, director of Gay and Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ), said at the time that “it has become customary for the President to attempt to whip up a climate of hysterical homophobia against LGBTI people before, during and after elections”.
He added that the LGBTI community was “once again being used as a red herring for the real woes in this country around good governance”.
Mugabe has famously previously stated that gay people are “worse than pigs and dogs” and that they “don’t have any human rights at all”.
