ITALIAN SINGER COMES OUT
Tiziano Ferro, the popular Italian pop singer, has told Italian Vanity Fair magazine that he is gay, ending ongoing speculation about his sexuality.
Thirty year old Ferro, who also sings in Spanish, has sold over eight million albums around the world and has long been the subject of rumours that he is gay.
“A couple of years ago I started a process of analysis. It was a long time since I felt there was something wrong, so I felt the need to bring back a lot of things: From the forced exile away from friends and family to the relationship with my work and the conflicted relationship with homosexuality,” he told the magazine.
“For a long time I haven’t felt good about myself… and after many tough years… I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to live better. They said I was living a double life, that I was with a man. I would get very upset because I wished I had a boyfriend, but I had no one,” said Ferro.
The interview was published ahead of the release of his autobiography Thirty Years and a chat with Dad.
