GEORGE MICHAEL ARRESTED AFTER ACCIDENT
Openly gay singer George Michael was involved in a car accident in the early hours of Friday morning.
The star’s car crashed into a commercial truck in London and, despite suggestions that he was intoxicated at the time, police released him without charge a few hours later.
This comes after a two year driving ban in 2007, when Michael was convicted of driving while unfit as a result of drug use.
According to E!Online, the recently re-licensed singer is adamant about his sobriety this time around, stating, “Neither of us was charged because we were both stone cold sober. We both think the other is to blame so this is just an insurance fight.”
However Lawrie Rowe, who was driving the truck, claimed in an interview with The Sun newspaper that the singer “must have been doing 100mph. When he got out he couldn’t walk straight.”
“He was absolutely not with it,” said Rowe.
