Fabulessness. Just when we thought jhb was boring. Who was that incredable dj on that played first on the outside floor? Even suart played decent music for a change
Qc knows thier shit!. All Qc parties have proven to rock! they get better and better! If you don’t like it! don’t come! we don’t want your sorry ass’s there anyway!
FOR MICHAEL – THE TIRED OLD SLAG. This is for michael -that tired old slag moaning about the club…..its old tired salads like you that never have anything good to say about anything and anyone…..what kind of club would you like to have sweetie >?…..you probably dont get lucky at any club and so bitch about the place the next morning once your drugs have worn off ……..stay at home next time doris
Thank You. The comments for the most (minus the tired old queens) have been incredible. Thank you. We love you, and you are the reason we do this. We will continue to grow and break new frontiers but only with your support. If we can improve or do things better tell us what you want: Pieter 074-102-8523 Bruce 082-222-1562. We exist only because of your incredible support. Big love Pieter
How much I love thee. I lived in London for 2 years but when I got back everybody told me SA now have qc. 6 events (i’ve been to) later, all I can say is wow. Ive been to Ibiza where the clubs draw 5000+ . To Qc: you are one the right track and we love you.
. What a brilliant party. Always have a good time at the qc events. really well done to the promoters concerned.Always improving and making the gay scene into something rather than nothing. Well done and look forward to Saturdays as there is a club to go too.
michael. Oh Michael, the reason you dont like any of the clubs anymore is cause clubs are for young people not 60 year olds like yourself. Why dont you take the pensioner bus to the library and sit there in the corner by yourself instead of at clubs and then just complain bout them.
Michael and his fans. Michael I salute you to have balls (unlike some of the girls on here) to comment on the trash they call clubs here in Jhb. If any of you sad souls have ever travelled to London, NY or Barcelona, just to name a few, you would know that the clubbing on offer here in the “Capital of Africa” is sadly lacking in some class and proper entertainment. The music is still stuck in some timewarp and the old hags running the show are just in it for the money – hence no quality of any kind. But I guess a shiny mirror ball can still blind some people to reality…
Well said. Thank you God for some1 who also see the bigger picture outside Jhb with its trashy holes they call clubs !!!!!!! And to think it only gets rated on who quickly you are “picked-up” and who long your drugs lasted.
lets be nice. Come on boys if you dont like going out to what there is…… go to london…….
Have something nice to say and maybe you will feel a bit better…pass it on…..
Clubs are not the cash cows that you think they are..it takes a lot to start one…if you think it is that easy start one for us to go to …..I will be the fist one to go…..
Take 2. Kevin I agree with you that guys like Michael and especially myself, should put our money where our mouths are and start something decent. The truth is that I don’t want the responsibility of running/maintaining or setting up a club – but some people thrive on it. The point that I should make a little clearer – if guys/girls out there had higher expectations and demanded better quality then hopefully people with the ability and the integrity to provide a decent service to the gay community, will step up to the plate, and blow our minds with an amazing clubbing/bar experience.
The fact of the matter is however that a lot of the promoters/owners currently on the circuit are only in it to exploit the clubbing needs of young gay men, and to make as much money in the process. You only need to realise that the same guys involved with the main parties/clubs at the moment are the very same guys who were responsible for the failed Heartland redevelopment. Not only did they get tax breaks and possibly financial assistance because of the regeneration, but they also sold the complex for a nice packet. They use the same concept again and again and we keep on attending – they keep on making money.
To finish my monologue I would like to add as a closing statement that you only need to look at the state of Rec Room and Pumphouse – who both charge money and make a lot of money – to realise that we are being taken for a ride and the sooner we all admit to it and start voicing our concern and objection, the sooner something can be done to set it right.
Mr knowitall. Hi there thanks for your comments but I think you need to get your facts right before you just blab off. Yes I was at the Heartlands two years ago (I was not the owner) the owners were the Adult world group.Need I say more. I did the pro work and could not work with them and left after 5 months.
So as for the tax that you think I got I did not get a thing.
I agree with you about the clubs in S.A they need to get a lot better.
This was the reason i moved away from Heartlands and started Qc and the first place I did an event at Taboo (maybe the best venue in S.A)
Lets get one thing thing st8 we do not make all the millions that you think we make.
To put on an event (were it to be at Taboo or at Grove bar) it takes large sums of money for a med return
It takes nothing less than R35000.00 to R200000.00 to put on a party. To put on the Firemans ball it was R275000.00
You do the sums on 400 guys comming to the club. The door does not even cover the costs.
Come on we are moving forward and I can say one thing for sure things are getting better as we speak..There are lots of things that are going to happen at the Q club and RISQUE.
Small steps and things will get very good. Rome was not build in one day…………
Lets get another thing st8 the more venues out there for the gay comnuity the better things will get. This will make us raise our game and get better so that the guys and girls will have a better choice. Can you eat Nandos every day of you life?
I have been in the club game for a long time now…yes it has taken a dive (a big big one)but we are at the bottom now and on the way up just try to see the big picture and try to give some positive feed back that we can use to make your clubing experince a better one for all of us.
And as for me exploiting the gay comunity I thake this as a very big insult and am sure all club and bar owners feel the same. This is a thankless job as we can never make every one happy ..but we have thick skins and keep on trying to give you the best we can on limited resourses(sound a bit like a politian)
Thank you all and I hope very much that you will not lose faith that things will get to a point you will be proud to go to all clubs.
Mr Knowitall. Boys I’m so sorry for my husband’s behaviour. I let him out of my sight for a minute and he goes and talks trash on the net. He should know better.
If he really knew-it-all he would know that a clubbing experience is not just about the place or the music but it’s about the people who attend.
I told him to stop hanging out with those sad has-beens. If he had any sense and some decent friends I’m sure he would have an absolute blast at these fabulous parties.
Next time I’ll leave him in the kitchen to prepare the Sunday roast and I’ll come and twirl my skirt with all you boys!
Interesting Feedback. Yeah, the opening was not AWESOME but it didn’t exactly SUCK either. It was a cool party. So much so that we went back the weekend afterwards but it was DEAD. *sigh* – The party carried on till all hours of the morning at Risque though. Bruce, you guys shouldn’t divide the crowds by opening 2 clubs that play exactly the same music… That was a bit of an oops, I’d say. I suppose Risque made enough that evening. Hehehe
I must say, I do prefer Risque. I’ve been a Truth / GrooveBar bunny before Q moved to midrand, and all I can say is that GrooveBar is not a lekker venue. Go look at the outside floor of Truth and open up a place that plays those funky tracks till the sun comes up… for gay boys and girls, of course. 🙂 Until then, I’ll be mingling with the hetero crowd at Truth – the music is still the best in that courtyard!
And to all of you jaded queens that are dissing the Q club, get over yourselves. As Bruce said, you have to test the waters and see where it goes. Things don’t always go as planned (as we’ve seen a couple of times already) 🙂 – By the way, am I the only person that miss the old Therapy Cherry Thursdays and Saturday Lighter Option stuff? Truth is the closest to that…

. Can’t wait to rock this party! Class all the way!
Awesome. What we have all been looking for…. Great !!! Excellent Clubbing venue and location…..
Qc knows their stuff. Rocking stuff baby!!!! Absolutely rocking stuff…. Qc for life!!!!!
Qc knows thier shit!. All Qc parties have proven to rock! they get better and better!

That is just so shallow that your reply is about SEX and DRUGS………think twice………even if it is a bit of a challange…..
