Night to remember. The 26th of May is one night one wil not be able to forget. There were so many new faces and the talent of the boys was eye catching. If you wanna have a good night of fun then you have to go to Risque

I agree. I agree about it being too full, too hot and it took FOREVER to get drinks, they should have closed the guest list after a certain number of people? ITS CALLED GREED!!!!!!! Whilst everyone ends up having a crap time… I dont get it. Oh and as for those tired dancers, How many times do we have to see the SAME three jumping around like they’re on speed and call it dancing??? Ugh!

. Guys i agree with all the bad comments, but look they did try, Risque owners i hope you read this – bar was soo crowded and dancers were not great – glad to finally have a club in the north but need something new
Re-think…. The whole layout is wrong – you walk straight into an overcrowded (at least it was on opening night) bar and can hardly get any further… After all the hype it was very disappointing – definitely got potential because of the location, but please Bruce – get the inside right. Who wants to walk into a bar and have to fight thru the crowds to even see what the place looks like? Judging by the comments on this site not too many…

Yeah it was very full we never thought we would have such a response.
A few things that we will be doing:
(1) The Dj will move to the main floor this will make the bar a lot bigger.
(2) We are building a walk way next to the dance floor so you don’t have to walk across the floor.
(3) We have now got some NEW dancers who we all have not seen (I hope) they used to work at teasHERS.
The outside will be opened up in the summer. We have pool outside with a beautiful outside area.
Sorry again for the long wait at the bar, but it will now be bigger and a lot faster. The new staff is also more familiar with the way things work.
If there is any way I can make your visit to RISQUE a truly good experience drop me a mail and I will do what ever I can to make it happen.
Lets all work to make ANY gay/pink rand venue work as we need them, from bars, clubs to hair saloons.

Mediocre is the WORD. Not a bad try, but same dogs different kennels. No ventilation, so a non smoker’s hell. Get some decetn Airvents. My God. Very Bad entertainment, would have preferred a comical drag artist or somthing.
Change the Music, so tired of dancing to unfamiliar music, get rid of that Stuart, God he pops up everywhere, We are not all on drugs. What happened to serious dance music, I am tired of funky. MEDIOCRE. let’s go back to the drawing board. Disenchanted!

Give the guys Credit. Why does the LGBTI community always have to complain when someone takes the trouble of supplying a venue for you all. Well done bruce and his Team I wish you everything of the very best, here’s to the next 6 years. YOU GO GAL!

In fact. Not to surprise you, but, in fact, I love a good clubbing experience. Problem is, I haven’t had one of those in years in this city. And no matter which one you go to, this dude is always somewhere there, whether it is behind a bar, or shooting crackers. And I know for a fact that he was on the Heartlands management. I can tell you stories that will make your hair stand up.
These people (and maybe not specifically this guy alone) are using the lack of proper gay entertainment to milk the gay community. And little clubqueens like you will always fall for it, unfortunately, instead of standing up and refusing to be offered second best. And they know because there are desperate people like you out there that they can charge R100 entrance fee and on average R5 more per drink (I mean R20 for a bottle of water – come on!!) I don’t mind paying more, but then at least I want value for the money I spend. If you are happy with feeding the fat cats, and being used like that, then please go ahead and be that naive.
Hey maybe I should open my own place, if I had the type of money these guys make off you every week I would have, and I can promise you, it will be so much better. Maybe I will.
Like I said, you will always get the druggies and club-freaks that are too desperate to care whether they are ripped off or not, unfortunately. But unfortunately for the organisers, they move around a lot, and after a while, after hearing the same old music and seeing the same old things, it is only these few desperate folks left, which means the fat cats cannot make enough money anymore, and then they have to close down – which is EXACTLY what happened to the heartlands. They started off with a huge bang and even bigger promises, and then they couldn’t deliver. And the greed kicked in, they raked in the pink money, without giving ANYTHING back to the community. So the community lost interest, and didn’t show up anymore, and the few desperate customers weren’t enough to pay the bills…
Think what you want, fact is, these places are based mostly on GREED, nothing more.
I have to say, it looks like Ramps is at least putting in some effort to become better, but unfortunately they are too far out of the way for many people, and also they have to compete with these assholes pricewise…
My hope is that Jozi gets a kick-ass club (like the way Bitch was in the beginning) soon

Think about it, that friend of yours standing next to you in a club is also there for the same thing, what, must he like go home so that you have a possible better chance at picking up that guy at the bar that you BOTH were wanting? If he chooses to talk to you or your friend thats his CHOICE.
