GLEE’S JANE LYNCH AND WIFE DIVORCE

American actress and comedian Jane Lynch, best known as Coach Sue Sylvester in Glee, has announced that she and her wife of almost three years are splitting up.

Lynch (52) married clinical psychologist Lara Embry (44) in 2010 in Massachusetts, where same-sex marriage is legal.

They had met a year earlier at a fundraising event at which Embry was being honoured.

“I said, ‘I want my picture taken with her.’ I thought she was cute,” Embry told the New York Times about meeting the star that night.

Embry has two daughters and Lynch previously said that she loved being a stepmother.

On Tuesday, Lynch confirmed in a statement to People magazine that she and Embry are divorcing.

“Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another,” Lynch said.

“We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter,” she added.
