GAY DURBAN FEST CALLS FOR FILMS

The annual Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (DGLFF) has called for submissions of feature films, documentaries and shorts with LGBT themes for its upcoming event.

Submitted films will be considered for the festival’s Official Selection, with entries closing on the 6 of April.

The inaugural DGLFF was launched last year and the event’s second festival is set to take place from 18 to 28 May at the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts Gallery in Durban.

It is expected to include a range of feature films and documentaries as well as a number of workshops for filmmakers and audience-members.

Last year, Festival Director Jason Fiddler said that he hoped that the festival would “become the event for filmmakers to have their Pink African premières”.

DGLFF also noted that advertising and sponsorship opportunities are available, especially for promotional activities and gay-owned or managed products.

Any queries about the festival or how to submit a film can be directed to Fiddler on jason@dglff.org.za.
