UGANDA GAY DEATH BILL BACK ON PARLIAMENT AGENDA
It’s been reported that Uganda’s dreaded Anti-Homosexuality Bill has been placed back on the parliamentary agenda.
“The anti-gays bill is overdue because the spirit of my ancestors tell me that they lived without these practices,” said MP Barnabus Tinkasimire in Parliament, reported Uganda’s ” target=”_blank”>Originally introduced in October 2009, the Anti-Homosexuality Bill allows for the death penalty in cases of “aggravated homosexuality” and includes various criminal penalties for anyone who fails to turn over gay people to the police or who “promotes” homosexuality.
An international petition opposing the bill was signed by almost 2 million people. It has been condemned by numerous governments around the world.
Homosexuality is already illegal in Uganda and those found guilty of gay sex can be sentenced to life imprisonment.
MP Barnabus Tinkasimire should stop listening to the ancestral voices in his head and start paying more attention to what his own government officials are saying. Without donor money, there will be nothing left of Uganda’s society and his dictatorship ideals
